In February 2024, the third THE GAME quest took place in ProTanki Online. The quest lasted for 5 days, and each day presented a significant challenge, with an average solving time of about 90 minutes.

The organization of the quest had been enhanced: for the first time, a special website was used for submitting answers, becoming integral to solving the puzzles. The point distribution system also made more flexible.

The organization of the quest also improved. For the first time, a special site was used to enter answers which became an important part of the solution and the point distribution system became more flexible.

*The first clue describes the Rhino tank from GTA: San Andreas - a reference to the Rhino paint.
* The first clue described the Rhino tank from GTA: San Andreas a reference to the Rhino paint in ProTanki Online.
*In the garage description of the Rhino paint, a link (in the form of a clickable dot) to the Industrial Zone article on the Wiki was added.
* In the garage description of the Rhino paint, a hidden link (embedded as a dot) pointed to the Industrial Zone article on the Wiki.
*In the Rhino paint article found in the “ Paints ” section, instead a hyperlink was added to the icon for protection from “Firebird”. This link leads to a page, https://imgur.com/a/Q3cbpHj , that depicts rackets for Ping-Pong - an obvious reference to the Ping-Pong map.
* In the Paints article, the Rhino paint’s icon for protection from “Firebird” led to a page, https://imgur.com/a/Q3cbpHj, showing ping-pong rackets an obvious reference to the Ping-Pong map.
*On Industrial Zone: there was a secret room in which “nitro” was written in Morse code. Looking into the description of the “Nitro” supply in the garage and on the Wiki did not show any results, so instead, information on Ping Pong map is analysed.
* On the Industrial Zone map, a secret room was displayed where “nitro” was written in Morse code. Checking the description of the supply “Nitro” in the garage and on the Wiki gave no results, so the focus shifted to the Ping-Pong map.
*On the Ping Pong map, another secret room was added, in which we see the same image as in the secret room of Polygon. The only connection that can be found is that both of these maps have a secret room. The “ Secret rooms article on Wiki contained one one image which was clickable. That image redirected users to the following link: https://game.pro-tanki.com/HMN5NZMnyu90 - a form for entering a keyword.

In the Secret rooms article on Wiki, one image was clickable, leading to https://game.pro-tanki.com/HMN5NZMnyu90 a form for entering a password.
*Taking “nitro” as the answer received from Industrial Zone, it is entered on the special website and fill out the Google form, after completing it correctly, we get the final picture, which depicts the character of one old cartoon - Roger Rabbit.
* Using “nitro” as a reference from Industrial Zone map, and entering it into the form, led to a Google Form. Completing it correctly revealed the final image, depicting Roger Rabbit, a character from an old cartoon.
The answer is Roger.
* The answer was Roger.

*The first clue comes from the description of the ProTLVK program. In the corresponding Wiki article, one of the question marks was actually a hidden link leading to this image.
* The first description matched ProTLVK program. In the ProTLVK article on Wiki, a question mark embedded as a link led to https://imgur.com/a/8jMfnmm.
*The image features four animatronics from the first game in the "Five Nights at Freddy's" series, labelled with the numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4. The ellipsis after "4" hints at a missing fifth animatronic—Golden Freddy. The word "Golden" in its name clearly refers to the Gold Box.
* The image displayed four animatronics from the first “Five Nights at Freddy’s” game, numbered 1, 2, 3, 4... The ellipsis after “4” hinted at the fifth animatronic, and that was Golden Freddy. The word “Golden” clearly referred to the Gold Box in ProTanki Online.
*More information on the Gold Box can be found on the Gold Box page on the Wiki. By selecting all text, we uncover a hidden link to a Google Form (although it's split into three parts, it has to be connected together to access the special page)
* On the Gold Box Wiki page, selecting all text revealed a hidden link to a Google Form (split into three parts, but easily combined).
*After completing the survey in the Google Form, a link was received: https://game.pro-tanki.com/QFJyYa8XcA9k. This is where the keyword has to be entered.
* Completing the Google Form provided a link: https://game.pro-tanki.com/QFJyYa8XcA9k, where the password must be entered.
*Examining the Gold Box page closely, a hidden text “cdauu2left” was found at the bottom (visible by selecting all the text). This indicates that in the string "cdauu," each letter must be shifted two places backward in the alphabet (using the Caesar cipher). Decoding it gives us "abyss".
* Examining the Gold Box page, a hidden text “cdauu2left” was found at the bottom (visible by selecting all text). This indicated that the code “cdauu” should be shifted two letters back in the alphabet (Caesar cipher), giving “abyss”.
*On the Abyss map, a secret room was added, inside which, numbers 0 and 1 were displayed on the walls, while the floor was lined with alternating dark and light tiles. This pattern indicated a binary code.
* On the Abyss map, a new secret room was added, with dark and light tiles on the floor, hinted at a binary message (“0” and “1”).
*Interpreting the dark tiles as 0 and the light tiles as 1, the following binary message was found: "01110110 01100001 01110010 01100001 01101110". Converting these binary values into ASCII characters, we get "varan", which is the keyword.
* Considering dark tiles as 0 and light tiles as 1, the message “01110110 01100001 01110010 01100001 01101110” was decoded into ASCII characters, and spelled “varan” — the password.
*We enter "varan" into the form obtained earlier, unlocking the final image.
* Entering “varan” into the form unlocked the final image, showing characters from “The Wizard of the Emerald City”.
*The final picture shows the characters from the story “The Wizard of Oz.
* The answer was Emerald.
*The correct answer is "Emerald".

Day 3
For many, the third day was the most challenging. This can also be seen in the time it took to solve the quest: the first correct answers were submitted after 2.5 hours when the first clue was published.

Many players found this day especially difficult, as evidenced by the solving time: the first correct answers appeared only about 3 hours after the first clue was given.

*The first clue describes the Ice Age character Manny the Mammoth.
* The first clue described Manny the Mammoth from “Ice Age”, referring to the Mammoth hull in ProTanki Online.
*On the Wiki article dedicated to Mammoth after selecting all the text on the page, at the very bottom of the page the inscription “b64” was found - a reference to the base64 encoding, which will most likely be needed later.
* In the Mammoth article on Wiki, selecting all text revealed the notation “b64” at the bottom (hinting at base64 encoding).
*In the table of body characteristics, the preview of Mammoth M0 was replaced by a picture with an exclamation mark; by clicking on it, it redirected us to https://imgur.com/a/SXUKY40, where we see a Canon camera - a reference to Canyon map.
* On the hull characteristics table, the Mammoth M0 preview image was replaced with an image of an exclamation mark, linking to https://imgur.com/a/SXUKY40, showing a Canon camera a reference to the Canyon map.

*Again, after checking the article about Mammoth and clicking on the link “ Mammoth Guide ”.It is seem that there is no article, but instead there is text that appears on a non-existent page, with one difference - the phrase “find a mention of this name” is underlined, and when you hover over it, the inscription “02/15/2022” appears.
* Returning to the Mammoth article and clicking on the “How to Use Mammoth” link revealed no article, but a text on a non-existent page with the phrase of “find a mention of this name” underlined, and was showing this date “02/15/2022”.
*Now in the updates article we find an update dated 15/02/2022 , in which the Duel and Ping Pong maps were updated. Nothing had changed on Ping Pong since day one, but on Duel a very interesting secret room was added.
* In the updates article, the 02/15/2022 update mentioned changes to the Duel and Ping-Pong maps. Nothing changed on Ping-Pong since day one, but a new secret room had been added to Duel.
*Also in the section of this update, a hidden code was found: “Z2FtZS5wcm8tdGFua2kuY29tL1p3WGlUZ3daN3BvTg==". Remembering about base64 from the beginning of the solution, we decode this message and get the link: https://game.pro-tanki.com/ZwXiTgwZ7poN, where the keyword had to be entered.
* In the update section, a hidden code “Z2FtZS5wcm8tdGFua2kuY29tL1p3WGlUZ3daN3BvTg==” was found. Decoding it with base64 revealed https://game.pro-tanki.com/ZwXiTgwZ7poN, this was where the password would be entered.
*In the secret room of the Duel map there were 4 transparent coloured cubes: red, yellow, green and blue. While discovering this in the secret room, we notice that if you look through these cubes and at other cubes, they change the color. Moreover, their color becomes exactly the same as that of the pictures in the secret room in Canyon map...
* In the Duel map’s secret room, four transparent coloured cubes (red, yellow, green, blue) were placed. Looking through these cubes at other cubes caused them to change colour that matched exactly the images in the Canyon map’s secret room.

*One by one (according to the colors of the rainbow) we look at all cubes through red, yellow, green and blue and collect the sequence of numbers corresponding to the colors of the “toys” from the secret room of Canyon map: the sequence 0231420314 is obtained.
* Viewing the cubes in rainbow order (red, yellow, green, blue) and matching the colours of the “toys” from the Canyon secret room gave the sequence of 0231420314.
*We enter it into the form found earlier and get the final image. On it we see the Caduceus - a symbol of medicine, as well as a screenshot of the drop location of the First Aid Kit on Highland map.
* Entering this into the form at https://game.pro-tanki.com/ZwXiTgwZ7poN revealed the final image: a Caduceus (a symbol of medicine), as well as a screenshot of the location where the First Aid Kit drops on the Highland map.
The answer is First Aid Kit.

*The first image might be quite confusing at first glance. Even after finding the original high-quality version and checking everything in the game related to it, nothing seems to be connected. That’s when we focus on the effect used on the image itself. Its name is *Noise*!
* The initial image was confusing at first glance. Even after rendering and enhancing its quality, no connections were made with the elements of the game. The focus shifted to the image’s effect, called “Noise”.
*On the *Noise* map, where there is a secret room featuring a mine and a magnifying glass— a reference to the event "Find the Mine." Additionally, a hidden code can be found on *Noise*: **"t:514848180:f"**.
* On the Noise map, a secret room displayed a mine and a magnifying glass — a reference to the “Find the Mine” event in ProTanki Online. A hidden code — “t:514848180:f” was also found.
* **"t:514848180:f"** is a timestamp corresponding to April 26, 1986—the date of the Chernobyl disaster. A reference to the *Chernobyl* map.
* “t:514848180:f” is a timestamp for April 26, 1986, the date of the Chernobyl disaster, pointing to the Chernobyl map.
* On the *Chernobyl* map, we locate a secret room, where five numbers are displayed: **09 18 02 09 19**. These correspond to letters in the English alphabet. Replacing them, we get **"irbis"**—this is the password.
* On the Chernobyl map, a secret room included five numbers: 09 18 02 09 19, and converting them to their corresponding letters in the English alphabet spelled the word “irbis” — the password.
* Now, we go to the *Find the Mine* article on the Wiki (which has since been deleted). By selecting all the text, we notice coordinates at the bottom of the page: **58.837795, 57.186750**. Entering these into any map application leads us to the village of *Parma*.
* In the “Find the Mine” article on Wiki (now deleted), selecting all text revealed the coordinates at the bottom: 58.837795, 57.186750. Entering these coordinates into any world map application pointed to the village of Parma.
* Next, we attempt to create a battle on the *Parma* map. However, before we even start, we notice a lone *Viking-Shaft* in the **Operator** paint on the preview image. We then navigate to the article about this paint.
* While attempting to create a battle on the Parma map, a lone Viking-Shaft in the Spectator paint was noticed on the preview. This leaded to the Spectator paint article.

* The phrase "It’s simpler than it seems" from the first hint means there’s no need to search for a hidden meaning in the words on the image or try to connect the text to something in the game—just take the first letters of the three words in the last highlighted line. This gives "FAQ"—a reference to the article "Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)".

* Answering the question in the first form correctly (*there are 123 windows on Silence*), we receive an image and a link to the password entry form: https://game.pro-tanki.com/aRGqf0pI7LH6. Additionally, in the corner of the image, we notice a barely visible inscription: "b64" with the number 1.
* By correctly answering the question in the first form (123 windows on Silence) provided an image and a link to the password entry form: https://game.pro-tanki.com/aRGqf0pI7LH6. A barely visible “b64” with the number 1 was noticed in the corner of the image.
* The second form is more complex, but upon completing it correctly, we see a portrait of Blaise de Vigenère and the question: "Should we return to previous maps?" This suggests that the Vigenère cipher will be used later and that the next hints are hidden in the secret rooms from previous days.
* The second form, when completed, showed a portrait of Blaise de Vigenère and asked, “Should we revisit the previous maps?”. This meant that the the Vigenère cipher would be used later and hinted at previous days’ secret rooms.

* All this means is that we will need to use base64, Caesar cipher with a shift of 13, and the Atbash cipher sequentially.
* Checking previous secret rooms, on the Ping-Pong map, the image from Polygon map had been changed to an illustration of the Atbash cipher with the number 3, while on the Chernobyl map, the numbers had been replaced with a portrait of Caesar and the numbers 13 and 2.
* It seems like a dead end, so we go back to *Subway*. Exploring the map again, we notice strange manhole covers on the ground that weren’t there before. Counting them gives us 7 covers.
* All this meant that the next step would be to use, in sequence, base64, the Caesar cipher with a shift of 13, and the Atbash cipher.
* Continuing to explore, we find a barely visible code on one of the buildings: "YmVvZmJ0ZXJy".
* It seemed to be a dead end, so the route returned to the Subway map. Upon re-examining the map, strange manhole covers were noticed on the ground that had not been there before. Counting them revealed a total of 7 covers.
* Now, we decode it step by step using the ciphers we found earlier.
* Continuing to explore the map, a barely visible code was noticed on one of the buildings: “YmVvZmJ0ZXJy”.
  - base64 → "beofbterr"
* Decoding them: base64 showed “beofbterr”, Caesar cipher (shift 13) showed “orbsogree”, Atbash showed “liyhltivv”. Using the Vigenère cipher with the key “seven” (recalling the 7 manhole covers on the Subway map), displayed “teddybear” — the password.
  - Caesar cipher → "orbsogree"
* Entering the password into the form at https://game.pro-tanki.com/aRGqf0pI7LH6 revealed the final image: a Mammoth in Africa with a Machine Gun mounted on its back, referencing the Eyjafjallajokull kit in ProTanki Online.
  - Atbash cipher → "liyhltivv"
* The answer was Eyjafjallajokull.
  - Finally, using the Vigenère cipher with the key "seven" (from the 7 manholes), we get: **"teddybear"**—the password.
* Entering the password in the form, we receive the final image: a *Mammoth* (judging by the tusks) in *Africa*, carrying a *Machine Gun* on its back. This is an obvious reference to a well-known Product kit in the game.
The answer is Eyjafjallajokull.

The game february2024 720px.png

In February 2024, the third THE GAME quest took place in ProTanki Online. The quest lasted for 5 days, and each day presented a significant challenge, with an average solving time of about 90 minutes.

The organization of the quest had been enhanced: for the first time, a special website was used for submitting answers, becoming integral to solving the puzzles. The point distribution system also made more flexible.

Day 1

First hint
This combat vehicle has incredible burst and immense firepower but is very slow on turns. It can be obtained upon reaching a six-star wanted level. With this vehicle, CJ is virtually invulnerable.

Solution

Secret room on Ping-Pong
Secret room on Industrial Zone
 • The first clue described the Rhino tank from GTA: San Andreas — a reference to the Rhino paint in ProTanki Online.
 • In the garage description of the Rhino paint, a hidden link (embedded as a dot) pointed to the Industrial Zone article on the Wiki.
 • In the Paints article, the Rhino paint’s icon for protection from “Firebird” led to a page, https://imgur.com/a/Q3cbpHj, showing ping-pong rackets — an obvious reference to the Ping-Pong map.
 • On the Industrial Zone map, a secret room was displayed where “nitro” was written in Morse code. Checking the description of the supply “Nitro” in the garage and on the Wiki gave no results, so the focus shifted to the Ping-Pong map.
 • On the Ping-Pong map, a secret room was found with the same image as in the Polygon's secret room. The only connection is that both maps have secret rooms. In the Secret rooms article on Wiki, one image was clickable, leading to https://game.pro-tanki.com/HMN5NZMnyu90 — a form for entering a password.
 • Using “nitro” as a reference from Industrial Zone map, and entering it into the form, led to a Google Form. Completing it correctly revealed the final image, depicting Roger Rabbit, a character from an old cartoon.
 • The answer was Roger.

Day 2

First hint
A special program that allows players to test various maps and take many screenshots. A very useful and popular program, often used by map makers, content creators, and regular players.

Solution

Reference to Gold Box
Encrypted message on Abyss
Link in ProTLVK article
 • The first description matched ProTLVK program. In the ProTLVK article on Wiki, a question mark embedded as a link led to https://imgur.com/a/8jMfnmm.
 • The image displayed four animatronics from the first “Five Nights at Freddy’s” game, numbered 1, 2, 3, 4... The ellipsis after “4” hinted at the fifth animatronic, and that was Golden Freddy. The word “Golden” clearly referred to the Gold Box in ProTanki Online.
 • On the Gold Box Wiki page, selecting all text revealed a hidden link to a Google Form (split into three parts, but easily combined).
 • Completing the Google Form provided a link: https://game.pro-tanki.com/QFJyYa8XcA9k, where the password must be entered.
 • Examining the Gold Box page, a hidden text “cdauu2left” was found at the bottom (visible by selecting all text). This indicated that the code “cdauu” should be shifted two letters back in the alphabet (Caesar cipher), giving “abyss”.
 • On the Abyss map, a new secret room was added, with dark and light tiles on the floor, hinted at a binary message (“0” and “1”).
 • Considering dark tiles as 0 and light tiles as 1, the message “01110110 01100001 01110010 01100001 01101110” was decoded into ASCII characters, and spelled “varan” — the password.
 • Entering “varan” into the form unlocked the final image, showing characters from “The Wizard of the Emerald City”.
 • The answer was Emerald.

Day 3

Many players found this day especially difficult, as evidenced by the solving time: the first correct answers appeared only about 3 hours after the first clue was given.

First hint
One of the first members and the main hero of all. His friends told him he was the last of his kind, which greatly annoyed him. Our hero began losing faith and doubting the existence of his species, but everything turned out fine during global warming. At last, he found a mate during the disaster.

Final image
 • The first clue described Manny the Mammoth from “Ice Age”, referring to the Mammoth hull in ProTanki Online.
 • In the Mammoth article on Wiki, selecting all text revealed the notation “b64” at the bottom (hinting at base64 encoding).
 • On the hull characteristics table, the Mammoth M0 preview image was replaced with an image of an exclamation mark, linking to https://imgur.com/a/SXUKY40, showing a Canon camera — a reference to the Canyon map.

 • On the Canyon map, a secret room contained of four numbered images and another image that were visible only from outside (by driving along the map’s edge), depicting various characters and toys.

Winter game 2024 3-4.png Winter game 2024 3-5.png
 • Returning to the Mammoth article and clicking on the “How to Use Mammoth” link revealed no article, but a text on a non-existent page with the phrase of “find a mention of this name” underlined, and was showing this date “02/15/2022”.
 • In the updates article, the 02/15/2022 update mentioned changes to the Duel and Ping-Pong maps. Nothing changed on Ping-Pong since day one, but a new secret room had been added to Duel.
 • In the update section, a hidden code “Z2FtZS5wcm8tdGFua2kuY29tL1p3WGlUZ3daN3BvTg==” was found. Decoding it with base64 revealed https://game.pro-tanki.com/ZwXiTgwZ7poN, this was where the password would be entered.
 • In the Duel map’s secret room, four transparent coloured cubes (red, yellow, green, blue) were placed. Looking through these cubes at other cubes caused them to change colour that matched exactly the images in the Canyon map’s secret room.

 • Viewing the cubes in rainbow order (red, yellow, green, blue) and matching the colours of the “toys” from the Canyon secret room gave the sequence of 0231420314.
 • Entering this into the form at https://game.pro-tanki.com/ZwXiTgwZ7poN revealed the final image: a Caduceus (a symbol of medicine), as well as a screenshot of the location where the First Aid Kit drops on the Highland map.
 • The answer was First Aid Kit.

Chernobyl timestamp on Noise
Encrypted password on Chernobyl
Secret room on Noise
Final image
 • The initial image was confusing at first glance. Even after rendering and enhancing its quality, no connections were made with the elements of the game. The focus shifted to the image’s effect, called “Noise”.
 • On the Noise map, a secret room displayed a mine and a magnifying glass — a reference to the “Find the Mine” event in ProTanki Online. A hidden code — “t:514848180:f” was also found.
 • “t:514848180:f” is a timestamp for April 26, 1986, the date of the Chernobyl disaster, pointing to the Chernobyl map.
 • On the Chernobyl map, a secret room included five numbers: 09 18 02 09 19, and converting them to their corresponding letters in the English alphabet spelled the word “irbis” — the password.
 • In the “Find the Mine” article on Wiki (now deleted), selecting all text revealed the coordinates at the bottom: 58.837795, 57.186750. Entering these coordinates into any world map application pointed to the village of Parma.
 • While attempting to create a battle on the Parma map, a lone Viking-Shaft in the Spectator paint was noticed on the preview. This leaded to the Spectator paint article.

 • Tankers noticed that from time to time, strange symbols appeared on the paint preview in the garage, and the same thing happened with the paint preview on the tank. However, if these two images were overlaid, they formed a code: "B7bNhLB2iJ4J”.

 • This turned out to be the address of a password entry form on the quest website: https://game.pro-tanki.com/B7bNhLB2iJ4J. Entering “irbis” redirected to a Google Form. Completing the survey revealed the final image: a maze with Hohloma patterns and “THE GAME” logo.
 • The answer was Hohloma.

Day 5

First hint
It’s simpler than it seems.

Solution

QR code on Subway
 • The phrase “It’s simpler than it seems” from the first hint meant that there was no need to look for hidden meaning in the words from the image or try to connect the text to something in the game. It was simply necessary to take the first letters of the three highlighted words, and getting “FAQ” — a reference to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) article.
 • In the article, some of the letters typed in bold. Putting them all together produced “мепздока”, which, when rearranged, formed “подземка” (the word means “subway” in Russian).
 • On the Subway map, two QR codes were found, leading to Google Forms (first and second).
 • By correctly answering the question in the first form (123 windows on Silence) provided an image and a link to the password entry form: https://game.pro-tanki.com/aRGqf0pI7LH6. A barely visible “b64” with the number 1 was noticed in the corner of the image.
 • The second form, when completed, showed a portrait of Blaise de Vigenère and asked, “Should we revisit the previous maps?”. This meant that the the Vigenère cipher would be used later and hinted at previous days’ secret rooms.

Final image
 • Checking previous secret rooms, on the Ping-Pong map, the image from Polygon map had been changed to an illustration of the Atbash cipher with the number 3, while on the Chernobyl map, the numbers had been replaced with a portrait of Caesar and the numbers 13 and 2.
 • All this meant that the next step would be to use, in sequence, base64, the Caesar cipher with a shift of 13, and the Atbash cipher.
 • It seemed to be a dead end, so the route returned to the Subway map. Upon re-examining the map, strange manhole covers were noticed on the ground that had not been there before. Counting them revealed a total of 7 covers.
 • Continuing to explore the map, a barely visible code was noticed on one of the buildings: “YmVvZmJ0ZXJy”.
 • Decoding them: base64 showed “beofbterr”, Caesar cipher (shift 13) showed “orbsogree”, Atbash showed “liyhltivv”. Using the Vigenère cipher with the key “seven” (recalling the 7 manhole covers on the Subway map), displayed “teddybear” — the password.
 • Entering the password into the form at https://game.pro-tanki.com/aRGqf0pI7LH6 revealed the final image: a Mammoth in Africa with a Machine Gun mounted on its back, referencing the Eyjafjallajokull kit in ProTanki Online.
 • The answer was Eyjafjallajokull.
