Understanding Experience
In «ProTanki», Experience Points (XP, not to be confused with the Hornet Railgun (XP) combo) are numbers which represent players' progression in game. As your experience increases, you unlock new Ranks, gaining access to various equipment, game modes, Maps, and mechanics.
Upon registration, every new player starts with 0 experience, holding the initial rank of Recruit. While the highest achievable rank is Generalissimo, requiring an impressive 1,400,000 experience points, players can continue earning experience points limitlessly even after reaching this prestigious rank.
Experience can be acquired by completing specific objectives in battles or by purchasing 1000 Experience Points in the Garage. Moreover, obtaining a Premium account, Up Score or a Newbie Pass grants a percentage bonus of Experience Points earned.
Score
Score is a measure of the amount of progress a player has contributed to their own team within a battle.
Score is used across all battles to distribute battle funds proportionally among players. However, the metric is not explicitly shown in deathmatches, and it is usually between 8 - 10 * the player's number of kills.
The amount of experience earned by a player prior to the effect of multipliers is equal to the amount of score attained in battle, which you can view by pressing Tab.
When a player self-destructs, points can be deducted from their score, and so the amount of net experience earned may be greater than the amount of score at the end of the battle.
NOTE: Despite its potentially misleading name, Up Score does not increase the amount of score you gain in team battles to maintain proper fund distribution. Instead, it boosts overall experience by 30% across all battles.
Table of characteristics
The table below demonstrates the various objectives that yield score (and by extension, experience) and the corresponding number of points for completing them:
Objective | Mode | Score | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Destroy enemies | All | 8-10 | In DM, the player who destroyed the enemy gets 10 XP. Destroying lighter hulls such as Wasp and Hornet only yield 8 XP. Otherwise, the same amount of score is earned by the player destroying an enemy without any allied support. |
Assist in destroying enemies | Teams | Max 15 | 15 score is divided proportionally among all allies who damaged the enemy, based the amount of damage dealt by them. |
Healing teammates with Isida | 3 * Healing time (s) | - | |
Deliver flag | CTF | 10 * Enemy team size | When successfully delivering a flag, 20% of score goes to the player who initially took the flag, 50% to the player who captured the flag, and the remaining 30% is divided proportionally among all allies who took part in delivering the flag, based on the distance over which allies carried the flag. |
Delivering flag with the assistance of teammates | Max 8 * Enemy team size | ||
Destroy enemy with flag | 20, Max 30 if assisted | Destroying an enemy with a flag gives twice the score compared to destroying a normal enemy. Other than that, score distribution for assisted kills is the same as that for a normal kill. | |
Return flags | Max 5 * Enemy team size | The score earned depends on the distance between the returned flag and its base, with a maximum limit reached when the distance is equal to or greater than the distance between the two opposing bases. | |
Capture points | CP | Max 2 * Enemy team size | The total amount of score gained is divided proportionally among all allies who took part in the capture/neutralization of the point. |
