Snow Battle Mode
Snow Battle (also known as "snowballs") was a special mode added to the game for New Year 2025. In this mode, players could test both their teamwork skills and their own ability to survive on the battlefield, where everyone around was an enemy.
The mode was available from December 28, 2024, to January 8, 2025. It could be played on Snow Battle or Snow Arena maps.
Features of the Mode
The mode was available on two maps: Snow Battle and Snow Arena. Upon entering these maps, your turret was replaced with a special snowman turret that shoots “snowballs”. The modification level of the snowman turret matched the modification level of the turret you had equipped prior to entering the map. The hull remained the same, and paints had no effect — none of them provided protection against this turret, ensuring minimal imbalance and maximum fun.
Snowman Turret
The turret had a unique appearance in the form of the head of a surprised snowman, which was quite unusual turret for ProTanki.
Main feature: the shooting system. It resembled powerful artillery, shooting in an arc at a 30° angle. When shooting, the initial speed of the projectile (flight range) could be adjusted, similar to how the shot power was controlled with Shaft in sniper mode. At maximum speed, the snowball could travel almost across the entire Snow Battle map, while at minimum speed it covered only 2-3 props.
The projectiles had an explosive splash effect, so snowman turret had to be used carefully: failure to follow safety measures could lead to unfortunate consequences.
Special Maps
Snow Battle and Snow Arena were maps specifically created for snowball fights. Wide open spaces, minimal cover and hills, as well as a large Christmas tree in the center of the map. These all reminded players of the holiday and served one main purpose: to bring as much fun as possible.
Snow Battle was created for team play in TDM mode: the map was divided evenly in half by a solid fence, with a Christmas tree standing in the middle. Players spawned in a special zone, almost unreachable for the enemy, and then jumped into the main area, where they were like sitting ducks. The main objective was to hit the constantly dodging opponents while avoiding getting hit themselves.
The name Snow Arena spoke for itself: it was a wide square field with a Christmas tree in the center and several obstacles. High ground was placed around the edges of the map, opening up a huge area for aimed shooting at those who dared to try their luck below. The map was available only in DM mode.
