Should I Disable Crystal Boxes?

Main article: Crystal boxes, Battle fund

When creating a PRO Battle, players have the ability to fine-tune settings for the upcoming fight, including the option to enable or disable crystal boxes (including gold boxes). This might seem strange as why would you deprive yourself of extra crystals? However, this is not always the case, because with crystal drops disabled, the battle fund grows 30% faster.

Of course, if your goal in the game is to collect as many crystal boxes as possible, or if you enjoy hunting for gold boxes, then participating in battles where this option is enabled makes sense. The opposite is also true: if you want to fully immerse yourself in the battle without being distracted by collecting crystal boxes or chasing golds, you might prefer battles without them.

For the average player, it can be difficult to decide whether disabling crystal boxes in battle is worth it or not. To answer this question, let's do some simple calculations.

Conclusion

On regular days, do not disable crystal drops on any maps, especially if your chances of catching a gold box are not zero.

On special event days, use the formula: disable the drop if D < 3/F - 10RG/7, where D is the number of crystal drop zones on the map, F is the increased fund multiplier, G is the increased value multiplier for gold boxes (for example, if a gold contains 2 000 Crysmini.png, then G = 2), and R is the increased multiplier for the probability of gold drops. (On regular days, F = G = R = 1.)

Basic Case

First, let's consider the simplest situation—where the probability of gold box drops, their value, and the battle funds are not increased.

Let N be the "basic" number of crystals, meaning the amount that accumulates in the fund without any additional multipliers, and let D be the number of crystal drop zones on the given map.

  • If the option is disabled, then the fund increases by 30%, meaning the total amount of crystals will be 1.3N.
  • Otherwise, the fund will contain only N crystals. However, crystal boxes, including gold ones, will be able to drop during the battle.
    • Gold boxes drop with a probability of approximately 1/7000 for each crystal added to the fund. This means that, on average, for every N in the fund, gold boxes will drop an amount worth about N/7 crystals.
    • Regular crystal boxes drop with about a 1% chance in each drop zone when crystals are added to the fund. On average, for every N in the fund, crystal boxes will drop an amount worth DN/10 crystals.
    • As a result, with crystal drops enabled, a single battle can yield approximately 8N/7 + DN/10 crystals.

For disabling the drop to be worthwhile, the 30% increase in the base fund must be greater than the number of crystals obtained from the drops. We can set up the inequality:

  • 1.3N > DN/10 + 8N/7
  • Solving this, we get: D < 11/7

This leads to an interesting conclusion. If the map has at least one crystal drop zone, it is more profitable to not disable the drop, especially if your chances of catching a gold are not that low.

General Formula

During different holidays or events, battle parameters may change: for example, the fund growth multiplier, the probability of gold box drops, or their value might be increased, making the formula above ineffective.

Attention! Different increased multipliers for funds do not affect each other but simply add to the base fund. Thus, if funds are x2 today and you choose to disable crystal drops, you will receive 2.3N instead of 2.6N.

Now, let's define the gold box value multiplier as G (on regular days, G = 1, and the value of a Gold Box is 1000 Crysmini.png. If G = 2, the value is 2000 Crysmini.png), the multiplier for gold drop probability as R, and the fund multiplier as F. On regular days, G = R = F = 1.

  • If crystal drops are disabled, the fund will contain (F + 0.3)N crystals.
  • If crystal drops are enabled, the fund will contain FN crystals.
    • The probability of a Gold Box dropping is R/7000 with a value of 1000G Crysmini.png. On average, for N in the fund, gold boxes will drop an amount worth FNRG/7 crystals.
    • Regular crystal boxes drop with about a 1% chance in each drop zone when crystals are added to the fund. On average, for every N in the fund, crystal boxes will drop an amount worth DFN/10 crystals.
    • As a result, with crystal drops enabled, a single battle can yield approximately (1 + RG/7 + D/10)FN crystals.

Let's set up another inequality:

  • (F + 0.3)N > (1 + RG/7 + D/10)FN
  • Solving this, we get: D < 3/F - 10RG/7

For example, during the 2024 New Year event, funds were doubled, the probability of gold box drops was tripled, and gold boxes contained 2024 Crysmini.png. This means that at that time, R = 3, F = 2, and G = 2.024 (for simplicity, we take G = 2). Then, disabling crystal drops was beneficial if:

D < 3/2 - 10*3*2/7 = -99/14

Obviously, -99/14 is lower than the number of crystal drop zones on any map, so during this event, it was more beneficial to not disable crystal drops on any map.

If we take a gold box value of 1000 Crysmini.png, funds x1, and golds x1, we get:

D < 3/1 - 10*1*1/7 = 11/7, which matches the basic case.

Thus, the general formula is: D < 3/F - 10RG/7.

Attention! We would like to remind you that we are only analyzing the total amount of crystals gained from a battle objectively, and this does not take into account your playstyle.
