Parkour

Parkour in gaming has many similarities with real-life parkour. In its essence, using swift movements and calculated jumps, players conquer obstacles and difficult terrains. The goal however is slightly different, in real-life parkour, objectives could be summarized as to get to a given point the fastest, make the most impressive flip or find the best technique to conquer a certain obstacle. In ProTanki, the goal is to explore hardly accessible parts of the map or work as a team to reach seemingly impossible places.
Today, parkour stands as a primary avenue for player creativity. Gamers form teams to compete in various challenges and scale heights together. The most active clubs even receive special paints in-game, which you can check out along with their owners below.
Basic mechanics
The basis of parkour in ProTanki is the basic movements of a tank: acceleration and interaction with the physics of the game. The skill lies in accurately calculating trajectories, using inertia and finding obscure points of support in maps. Advanced techniques include directing/steering a tank mid-air and utilizing distinct game physics.
Genres of Parkour
Multitudes of ways to perform parkour have developed over time, spanning the entire history of the game, with each differing in the number of participants and the style of interaction between players.
OMP (One Man Parkour)
Individual parkour format. It is considered the most basic and common style. The main focus is on the user's personal skill, movement precision, tank control, and knowledge of the game physics.
Tandem
Co-op Parkour. Pulling off tricks requires synchronous actions, teamwork, and exact timing. Players frequently use assists, boosts, and combined efforts to clear obstacles that cannot be overcome solo.
Trio
Three-player parkour. Distinguished by higher difficulty and a requirement for strict team coordination. Trio tricks usually rely on chained actions, meaning an error by just one player causes the whole run to fail.
Team Parkour
A format intended for more than three players. Only a team effort can conquer the toughest peaks, like the Rio skyscraper. This style is especially valued in the community for being visually spectacular and requiring a high level of coordination.
Parkour in «Space»
The Space theme, which can be selected when creating a battle, significantly simplifies life for parkourists and opens up new possibilities. Reduced gravity allows for longer flights and executing complex stunts with less effort, making 'Space' popular among beginners.
Ricochet flying technique
In 'Space' battles, it is possible to use the recoil of Ricochet to create a stable thrust and achieve sustained flight. A low hull mass is the key condition.
- Principle: The recoil from Ricochet's shots overcome gravity, lifting and holding the tank in the air.
- Key Condition: A lightweight hull is essential. The technique works best with Wasp M0, which has the lowest mass in the game.
- Note: XT equipment has identical characteristics to standard equipment.
Community and clubs
Parkour Clubs - These are the central creative hubs for all parkourists. Here, players exchange experience, train together, and create new stunts. The most active and prominent clubs can receive official status and support from the game administration.
